After Sambalpur, one more married woman gang raped in Odisha

Keonjhar: After the gang-rape of a 30-year-old woman in Odisha’s Sambalpur created much hue and cry in the state, another married woman has reportedly been rape by two persons in Keonjhar district.

In the latest incident, a married woman was allegedly gang raped at Dhobapitana village under Ghatagaon police limits in Keonjhar district two days ago.  As per the complaint, when the woman was returning to her house after attending a 13th day death ceremony on December 11 night, two people came in inebriated condition and forcibly took her inside a forest. Later, the duo raped her one after another.

Acting on the complaint, the Ghatagaon police launched a probe into the incident and arrested Singarai Munda and Sailendra Munda of the same village and produced them before court today.

On December 7,  a 30-year-old tribal woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by four men at Dengsargi village under Ainthapali police limits in Sambalpur district. She was found lying unconscious on road and rescued by police in critical condition before being admitted to VIMSAR in Burla for treatment.
