Anjana Mishra gang-rape: TI Parade of main accused to be conducted tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The Special CJM Court, Khordha today allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Kolkata to conduct Test Identification (TI) Parade of Biban Biswal, the prime accused in 1999 Anjana Mishra gang-rape case, at Jharpada jail here tomorrow. 

The CBI will also take the survivor to the jail and the TI parade of the accused will be conducted in presence of the JMFC, sources said.

The court also allowed the investigating agency to take  the prime accused on a two-day remand.

Earlier in the day, CBI Kolkata moved the court seeking permission to take Biswal on remand for the TI Parade.

Yesterday, the Orissa High Court closed a petition filed by the survivor alleging lapses in investigation of the incident.

Last month, Odisha police with the help of Maharashtra counterparts nabbed prime accused Vivekananda alias Biban Biswal, who was absconding for the last 22 years, from Aamby Valley in Lonavala near Mumbai.

Revealing this at a presser, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on February 22, had informed that the accused had changed his name to Jalandar Swain and was working as a plumber at Aamby Valley .
