No respite from intense heatwave in Odisha as mercury crosses 42 Degree C at 20 places

Various progressive political organisations in Delhi took part in a solidarity protest at Odisha Bhavan in Delhi Wednesday. The protest is in solidarity with the incredible resistance of the Dongria Kond against Vedanta mining in Niyamgiri hills, sacred to the Dongria KondH tribals. Eminent writer-activist Arundhati Roy was among those who addressed the gathering.

8 of the 12 affected tribal villages have already expressed a thundering No to the proposed mining activity by Vedanta. Four more gram sabhas are to be held in Rayagada district in the next two weeks.
