Badamba declared as containment zone after two residents test positive for COVID-19

Cuttack: The Athagarh Sub Collector today declared the entire Badamba town under Badamba block as a containment zone after two persons from the area tested positive for COVID-19 in last two days.

In an order, Athagarh Sub Collector Ajambar Mohanty stated the Badamba town has been declared as a containment zone for 72 hours from 10 am on June 29 to 10 AM on July 2 for comprehensive contact tracing and in larger public interest.

All the connecting approach roads to SH-65 and from Badamba Fire station to Sunapal Chhak will remain close (except SH-65), the order added.

All vehicular and personal movement in and out of the containment zone has been stopped.

The inhabitants of the area have been asked to strictly remain at home. Also, commercial establishments have been directed to remain closed.

The order further stated supply of medicines and essential goods will be ensured by the respective block administration.

All government and private institutions within the said area have been closed.
