Bhubaneswar petrol station blast: Man succumbs to injuries at SCB Hosp

Bhubaneswar: A person, who had sustained critical injuries in the petrol station explosion near Raj Bhavan in Odisha capital yesterday, died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack early this morning, informed Emergency Officer Bhubanananda Maharana.

The deceased has been identified as Satya Nayak (37) of Aska area in Ganjam district. He had sustained 60 percent burn injuries in the mishap and was admitted to the Trauma ICU of the hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Another victim Ripu Daman (40) of Lucknow, who has sustained 40 percent burn injuries, is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

A major fire broke out at the petrol station yesterday as an underground fuel storage tank caught fire which led to the mishap along with an explosion. The blast injured multiple persons besides damaging many vehicles at the petrol station.
