BJD, BJP announce Deputy Mayor candidates for Berhampur

Berhampur: Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and opposition Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) announced their candidates for the poll to Deputy Mayor post for Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC).

BJD announced E Vivek Reddy as the party candidate for the Deputy Mayor poll. Similarly, D Karunakar has been nominated by the BJP for the election.

While Vivek Reddy has been elected as the Corporator of Ward No.42, Karunakar won as the Corporator from Ward No.21 in the recently held elections in Berhampur town.

Worth mentioning that BJD has grabbed the Mayor post in Berhampur with victory of its candidate Sanghamitra Dalei in the civic body polls.

Sanghamitra was elected as Berhampur Mayor defeating her rival candidate from BJP Sabita Suar with a margin of 20,236 votes.
