BJD fields Dipali Das, daughter of Naba Das, as its candidate for Jharsuguda Bypoll

Bhubaneswar: Putting all speculations to rest, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today fielded Dipali Das, daughter of late Naba Kishore Das, as its candidate for the upcoming bypoll to the Jharsuguda Assembly Constituency in Odisha.

The BJP and the Congress were yet to declare the name of their nominees.

While the saffron party is likely to nominate its youth leader Tankadhar Tripathy, Congress state president Sarat Pattanayak said he has formed a committee led by senior leader and MLA Santosh Singh Saluja to select a suitable candidate.

The bypoll will be held on May 10 while the counting of votes will take place on May 13.

The bypoll was necessitated after the murder of the then sitting MLA Naba Kishore Das on January 29, this year.
