BJEM, SAI lift Inter-School Basketball titles

Buxi Jagabandhu English Medium School (BJEM) and SAI International School emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively in the Sahodaya Schools Basketball Tournament that concluded at Mother’s Public School (MPS) ground here on Friday.

In the boys’ final, BJEM defeated defending champion MPS by 73-62 points.

Earlier in the semi-finals, BJEM had defeated DAV Unit-8 by 47-22 and MPS defeated ODM by 62-48.

Abhisek Dash of the champion team bagged the most valuable player of the meet award.

In the girls’ final, SAI girls beat DAV Chandrasekharpur by 19-7 points and claimed the champion’s trophy.

In the semi-final matches, SAI and DAV Chandrasekharpur had defeated defending champion Delhi Public School and host MPS by 17-10, 29-15 points respectively.

Vedita Das of the champion team received the most valuable player of the championship award.

Former international basketball player Arupa Nanda Routary distributed the prizes.
