Bridge work far from over, Odisha villagers use ropeway to reach destination

There are many places in Kandhamala district where ropeway serves as the only way of transportation and Burangia village under Daringibadi block is one of them.

The residents of the village depend on a ropeway to cross Khadaga river. The situation worsens during rainy season as the water level in the river increases.

Not just Burangia, residents of Budelpadi, Jharmunda, Mundanaju and Dabarbanda rely on the ropeway for transportation.

Lack of proper road connectivity to Burangia also affects ambulance service to the village. The villagers carry patients through the ropeway to the nearby hospital.

Though the villagers have demanded the construction of a bridge over the river, no steps have been taken in this regard.
