COVID-19 in XIMB: No need to panic, says BMC

Bhubaneswar: All students, employees and faculty members of the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) have been put under isolation after some students and staff of the B-school tested positive for COVID-19.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Zonal Deputy Commissioner (North) Purandar Nanda informed this. He is monitoring the sanitation work and strict enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines in and around the college.

“The XIMB campus has been sealed until further orders and nobody is allowed to enter the premises. In order to check the spread of Covid-19, a protocol has been put in place for sanitising the college campus and all documents too,” he said.

The BMC has already sanitized the entire campus, including classrooms, library and auditoriums. Meanwhile, a special team rushed to the campus to conduct test of other students and staff of the college. The swab samples have been sent for RT-PCR test, the official added.

“There is no reason to be panic. The BMC has been keeping a close watch on the situation and taking precautionary measures to check further spread of the virus,” Nanda said.
