Cuttack former Corporator among 3 arrested for extortion

Cuttack: The Twin City Commissionerate Police today arrested three persons, including Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) former Corporator Ranjita Biswal on charges of extortion.

Sources said the three were demanding the extortion money from a businessman here. The cops also seized Rs 1 lakh cash from residence of gangster brothers Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamant, who are currently lodged in jail.

Earlier, the ex-Corporator was arrested twice for her alleged links with gangster brothers.
