Death of journalist Navin Das’ son: Police begin process for diatom test

Bhubaneswar: Expediting investigation into the death mystery of senior journalist Nabin Das’ son Manish Anurag, who was found dead in a pond on the city outskirts yesterday, the Commissionerate Police (CP) has begun the process for diatom test.

Reportedly, the CP has sent diatoms extracted from body of the deceased and the samples collected from the water body to forensic laboratory for the test to know the exact cause of death.

The test will help the cops ascertain if the youth drowned to death or was murdered before being thrown into the water, police sources said.

In the afternoon yesterday, Manish was found dead in a pond at Patrapada area under Tomando police limits on the city outskirts. Prima facie suggested that the 30-year-old was murdered and thrown into the pond.
