“The Delhi police and Kandhamal police shall file a status report on their efforts to trace out the girl from today to next date of hearing,” a division bench of the court comprising Acting Chief Justice BD Ahmed and Justice S Mridul said in their order on Wednesday.

It may be mentioned that four girls of 14-18 age group were trafficked to Delhi from Odisha by a placement agency.

While the police had rescued three girls they were found to have been physically and sexually abused. However, the fourth girl has remained untraceable until now.

The panicked parents of the missing girl had filed a habeas corpus plea in the High Court and alleged that the Delhi and Odisha police have not made efforts to trace their daughter.
