Bhubaneswar, Apr 21:
After the tragic Deogarh bus accident which lead to death of 27 persons on April 17, Odisha government has decided to strictly implement the display of bus details, driving license and fitness certificate of all vehicles.
Odisha Commerce and Transport minister Ramesh Majhi yesterday said that the display of the details of the bus and the driving license of the driver would now be made mandatory in all buses.
Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) have been asked to verify all buses in the state within a month and get the details relating to the insurance and fitness of the vehicles and submit detailed reports to the government.
The bus owners need to prepare a list of the vehicle registration number, engine and chassis numbers, insurance certificate, fitness certificate and pollution test certificate and put it inside the bus.
Strict action would be taken against the concerned bus owner if they do not comply, he warned.
