Drunk man burns wife alive in Odisha’s Dhenkanal
Dhenkanal: A drunk man allegedly burnt his wife to death at Balisahi village under Kankadahada police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Rangabati Das (54), wife of Niranjan Das (58).

According to reports, the accused used to torture the woman under the influence of alcohol. On the fateful day, Niranjan came home after consuming liquor and started thrashing his wife.
Later, he poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. She sustained critical burn injuries and died.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by the deceased’s son Bikas Das (20), police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Niranjan was detained by cops for questioning.
