Eminent Odisha writer Prafulla Das to get Sarala Puraskar 2014

Eminent Odia litterateur Prafulla Das has been nominated for the prestigious Odisha literary award, Sarala Puraskar this year.

Das would be conferred with the award at a formal function on October 26.

This was announced by the Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), the charitable wing of IMFA Group, in a release today.

Das has been nominated for his book ‘Banhiman’ and other collections.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh and a citation.

Besides, well-known painter Siba Panigrahi and eminent singer Shyamamani Devi would also be felicitated at the function, which would be graced by eminent Bollywood lyricist and screenplay writer Javed Akhtar as the chief guest.
