Final vaccination certificate not mandatory for visit to religious places in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation today relaxed Covid restrictions that were imposed on devotees visiting religious institutions under its jurisdiction. In an order, the city municipal corporation stated devotees visiting religious institutions in the city will no longer need to produce double vaccination certificate or ID proof.

The decision has been taken considering the present Covid scenario and coverage of vaccination, the order stated.

It is worth to mention that the municipal corporation had earlier stated only doubly vaccinated individual should be allowed for darshan and conduct rituals and puja at the religious institutions.

Besides, the order stated there will not be any conditions on priests or sevayats to produce double vaccination certificates.

Authorities of the religious institution are required to ensure Covid appropriate behavior like social distancing, mask wearing and hand santisation within their premises, the order added.
