Jaypore: Flight services at Jeypore airstrip in Koraput district and Rangeilunda airstrip in Ganjam district will begin soon, informed Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera today.

Speaking to mediapersons, the Minister said flight services from Jeypore and Rangeilunda to Vizag under UDAN and non-UDAN schemes will begin soon. The CM had reviewed the programme and has already given his approval for the same. Both the airstrips are completely ready to start operation.

On July 28, Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra visited the Jeypore airstrip to review its upgradation work and said the facility is expected to be operational soon.

Earlier, a top official of the state government had informed that about 19 chartered flights will operate from Jeypore airstrip, under UDAN scheme, by the year end.
