Go for COVD-19 test immediately, if you have mild cold, fever: Odisha top health official

Bhubaneswar: People suffering from mild cold and fever are advised to immediately go for COVID-19 test for everyone’s safety, said Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra.

Speaking to mediapersons, the health official today said the virus has been mutating as people with mild cold and fever are found infected with COVID-19 these days. Hence, people should get themselves tested as soon as they develop the flu-like symptoms.

Regarding detection of positive cases in Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla and a Government school in Sundargarh, he said both areas have been declared as containment zones and there is no need to panic as the infection has spread in few specific belts. The severity of the disease is also less among the infectees.
