Gokul Pati to take over as chief secretary of Odisha on August 1

1978-batch IAS officer Gokul Chandra Pati, currently holding the position of Union secretary Defence Production is all set to take over as the new chief secretary of the Odisha government from August 1, informed sources said.

Sources in the State Secretariat said the incumbent chief secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra will be demiting office on July 31 and take charge of his new assignmentt as the secretary, Fertilizer at the Centre on August 1.

However, Mohapatra will be chairing a high level meeting to decide on the promotion of some senior OAS officers to the IAS cadre on July 25 before his demiting office, sources said.

There is also talks of a major reshuffle at the IAS officers level in the second week of August after new chief secretary takes over, sources added.

The sources also informed that 1984 batch Odisha cadre IAS officer R Balakrishnan, who has been on a deputation to the Centre, will be returning to Odisha very soon. .
