Bhubaneswar: Although the southwest monsoon has subdued Odisha, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in eight districts of the State. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar issued Yellow Warning today for the next five days.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD centre said, “The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Balasore and thence southeastwards to Central Bay of Bengal. The cyclonic circulation over southwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood now lies over west-central Bay of Bengal adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast and extends between 1.5 and 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.”

The highest maximum temperature of 38.8oC was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 24.0oC was recorded at Phulbani and Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.
