Hotel manager found dead inside room in Puri

Puri: Mystery shrouded the death of the manager of a hotel at CT Road under Marine police station here after his body was recovered from a room of the hotel this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Basant Sethy, a resident of Tarokar village Balikapileswarpur here.

Sources said a staff first found Basant’s body with a bleeding face lying on the floor of a room this morning and immediately raised an alarm. On receiving information, a police team reached the spot and sent the body to hospital for post-mortem. Though the reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he has been killed by some miscreants. However, police are investigating into the incident.

Meanwhile, Basant’s brother said that the former had been working in the hotel for the last 15 years. “He did not receive our calls yesterday. Today morning, we were informed about recovery of his body. He did not have any enmity with anyone,” said Kabuli, brother of the deceased.
