IMD forecasts thunderstorm with lightning in Odisha districts for next two days; details here

Bhubaneswar: With monsoon trough prevalent, at least twenty districts in Odisha will very likely witness thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places during the next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here issued Yellow Warning for the next five days, today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, Gajapati, Ganjam and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.”

The highest maximum temperature of 36.4oC was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0oC was recorded at Boudh in the plains of Odisha.

For Monday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.07.2023)

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

For Tuesday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.07.2023)

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Gajapati and Kandhamal.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh and Keonjhar.
