Bhubaneswar: With monsoon trough prevalent and owing to a cyclonic circulation over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 3.1 Km above mean sea level, at least 13 districts in Odisha will witness thunderstorm with lightning during the next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar issued Yellow Warning for the next five days, today.

A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal around 16 July 2023.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Rayagada, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Puri and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.”

The highest maximum temperature of 35.2oC was recorded at Jharsuguda and the lowest minimum temperature of 22.5oC was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2023)

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Boudh, Deogarh and Keonjhar.
