Lockdown restrictions relaxed in 3 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Announcing an extension of period for the state-wide lockdown till June 17, 2021, Odisha Chief Secretary SC Mahapatra today said the decision has been taken as the test positivity rate (TPR) in the State has not come down below 10%.

He, however, added the lockdown restrictions have been relaxed in Nupada, Gajapati and Sundargarh districts considering decline in Covid positive cases in the three districts in recent past. The three districts reported less than 10% TPR in recent days.

All shops excluding salon, parlours and shopping malls in the three districts will be allowed to remain open from 7 AM to 1 PM.

In case there is any increase in Covid positive cases in the three districts, the relaxations will be withdrawn, Mahapatra added.

For other districts, the shops selling vegetables and essential items will be allowed to remain open from 7 AM to 11 AM during the lockdown period, he said.

The Chief Secretary also said the relaxation will be extended to other districts in phases if the TPR comes down below 10%.
