Mahanga mass murder: Accused Siba Sahu sent to jail

Cuttack: On completion of a three-day remand period, Mahanga quintuple murder accused Siba Sahu was sent to Salipur Sub-jail here today.

Earlier in the day, the Mahanga police produced Siba before the official residence of Salipur JMFC after his remand period concluded today.

As the cops did not appeal to the court for extension of his remand, the Judge sent him to Salipur Sub-jail.

Earlier on April 15, the police had taken the accused to the crime spot for scene recreation.

The crime scene recreation was conducted  amidst tight security in presence of Salipur SDPO Bimal Barik and Mahanga police station IIC Nihar Ranjan Mohanty.

In the wee hours on April 12, the accused allegedly killed his elder brother Alekha, his wife and three children, including two minor boys with sharp weapon and later surrendered. Before surrendering, he had released a video confessing to have committed the mass murder out of vendetta.
