Mamita Meher murder: Woman teacher’s father urges not to malign her image

Bhubaneswar/Bhawanipatna: Ending his silence over talks of Sunshine Public School Principal Mamita Meher’s visit to Raipur along with the School Managing Committee President Govind Sahu, the woman teacher’s father Suchindra Meher today urged not defame her daughter.

The woman’s teacher said Mamita was of a good character and had never visited Raipur of Chhattisgarh State along with Govind Sahu. He also requested the media not to resort to character assassination of her daughter.

Worth mentioning, few days back Congress MLA from Kantabanji Santosh Singh Saluja alleged Minister of State (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra, Govind Sahu and Mamita Meher were present at Mishra’s residence in Raipur between September 20 and 23. He further claimed Mishra tried to resolve differences between Govind and Mamita at his apartment in Raipur.

BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra also claimed there were three meetings between Govind and Meher in Raipur.

Mamita’s father also requested everyone not to politicise her daughter’s murder case. He expressed satisfaction with the way the police investigation into the murder case is going on.

“I have complete faith in the Chief Minister and hope justice will be delivered,” said Suchindra Meher.

Earlier in the day, Opposition BJP observed a bandh in Jharsuguda and Gajapati districts demanding action against the Minister of State (Home).

Seeking justice for the deceased woman teacher, the BJP observed a bandh from 6 am to 6 pm in Gajapati and an eight-hour shutdown from 6 am to 2 pm in Jharsuguda disrupting normal life in both the districts.
