Maoists’ blast plan in Odisha foiled as IED making materials recovered from under-construction pavement

Koraput: Foiling Maoists’ plan to trigger a blast, the Special Operation Party of 151 Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) recovered IED making materials from Pujariput forest area in Odisha-Chhattisgarh border area under Boipariguda police limits of Koraput district.

Official sources said the recovery was made along the roadside near Pujhariput Chhak on Ramagiri Gupteshwar road, about 5 km from the Company Operating Base (COB) at Ramagiri in the district. The IED materials were found concealed and placed on the pavement of under-construction roadside near Pujariput Chhak.

The operation was carried with the help of a mine detector and explosive checking dog that confirmed the presence of a bomb.

Meanwhile, members of CPI (Maoist) blew up a portion of railway tracks in Latehar district of Jharkhand disrupting train services on Barkakana-Garhwa route in the wee hours today.

The blast took place on the railway tracks between Richughuta and Demu railway stations around 12.30 am. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
