Maoists kill two in Malkangiri

Two tribal people have been killed by Maoists at Silakota village under Padia block in Malkangiri district on the suspicion that they were working as police informers.

Confirming this in an audio release to the media on Monday, Maoist leader Poonam said that two tribals were abducted and killed on January 25.

The incident has triggered panic in Silakota and nearby villages.

A joint combing operation by the BSF personnel and the police has been launched in the area to track down the rebels, reports said.
