Miscreant attacks Retd SP in Odisha’s Balangir, loots cash

Balangir: An unidentified miscreant allegedly attacked a retired Superintendent of Police (SP) in Odisha’s Balangir today and looted cash from his possession.

The incident took place when Bishnuprasad Padhi, the victim, was having morning walk. The attacker assaulted him with an axe and snatched away Rs 300 from him.

Padhi, who was earlier serving as the SP of Boudh district, sustained injuries on his head. Police have started investigation into the incident on the basis of a complaint lodged by him.

Though the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the wrongdoer committed the act with an intention of loot.
