Morning school classes begin in Odisha amid heat wave conditions

Bhubaneswar: Morning classes for the students of class 9, 10, 11, and 12 began at schools and higher secondary schools across Odisha today in view of the heat wave conditions in the state.

Timings for students of classes 9 and 11 have been rescheduled to 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM. Similarly, timings for students of classes 10 and 12 have been rescheduled to 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM.

District Education Officers (DEOs) have been advised to ensure availability of pure drinking water in all schools including repair of tube wells, if any in consultation with officials of PR & DW Dept/Urban Local Bodies.

They have been advised to store sufficient ORS in schools which can be provided to students and staff in case of need and the same can be procured from the Local Health Centre.

School transport facilities, where available, have been allowed to operate for students and staff to avoid exposure to heat.
