Hearing a complaint by human rights activist and Supreme Court lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy, the Commission has asked its special rapporteur Damodar Sarangi to submit a report within three months.

The petitioner has requested the Commission to depute its special rapporteur to conduct on-the-spot inquiry and direct the police to release the protestors.

The Commission had earlier issued a notice to the district collector and Superintendent of Police over the alleged human rights violation by the state government in the construction of the project which began in April last year.
