Nikunja Dhal is new SRC of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today appointed senior IAS officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal as the next Special Relief Commissioner (SRC).

This official notification comes a day after Pradeep Jena was appointed as the next Chief Secretary of the state. Jena was holding the post of SRC prior to his elevation.

Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Energy Department with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Excise Department, Chairman of GRIDCO and Chairman of Odisha State Beverages Corporation Ltd. Is allowed to remain in charge of Special Relief Commissioner, Oidhs and Managing Director, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority in addition to his duties, the notification from General Administration and Public Grievance Department read.

Worth mentioning, Dhal will succede Jena and the latter will replace Suresh Kumar Mohapatra. The outgoing chief secretary was given an extension of six months twice. He superannuated on February 28 last year.
