At a high-level review meeting chaired by state Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das, the state government decided not to go for power cuts till June 30.

“The peak hour demand is now 4100 MW as against 3300-4000 MW production per day. To meet the shortfall, we are drawing 50-60 MW power from Punjab through the power banking mode,” Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das informed media persons after the review meeting.

The water level at various reservoirs is sufficient to meet the requirements for the next 15 days. While the water level at Balimela reservoir is at 30 feet, the level is at 3 meters at Kolab reservoir, Das added.

Next course of action would be decided after review on June 30, he added.
