Odisha: 3 BJP MLAs suspended for hurling shoes at Assembly Speaker

Bhubaneswar: Taking prompt action, Odisha Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro suspended three BJP MLAs for hurling shoes at the former and hampering the dignity of the Speaker’s Chair during the House proceedings today.

The three suspended MLAs are Jaynarayan Mishra and Bishnu Charan Sethi and Mohan Majhi. They will not be allowed to attend the ongoing Assembly session.

After suspending them, the Speaker asked the three members to leave the House.

Earlier in the day, the BJP MLAs hurled shoes at the Speaker as a mark of protest after an adjournment motion brought by the Congress was rejected by the Speaker. They also alleged that Odisha Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill was passed in the House without debate on the same.
