Odisha: 6 dead, several injured after van rams into roadside tree

Phulbani: In a tragic incident, as many as six passengers died and over 30 passengers were injured after a van rammed into a roadside tree near Kutibali area under Kotagada police limits in Kandhamal district today.

However, identities of the deceased persons are yet to be ascertained.

The injured persons were rushed to Baliguda Sub-Division Hospital and Bissamcuttack Community Health Centre for treatment.

According to initial reports, the passengers were travelling on a van from Kotagada to Tiamaha to attend a wedding reception today. The incident took place at Kutibali area when the vehicle hit a roadside tree killing six persons on the spot.

On receiving information, police along with a team of fire services rushed to the site to rescue the injured persons from the van.
