Odisha: Ambulance carrying expectant mother meets with accident, 3 critical

Nabarangpur: An 108-ambulance carrying an expectant mother met with accident injuring the woman and two others critically near Gabaguda in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district last night.

The incident took place around 12 AM when the ambulance was carrying a pregnant woman along with an ASHA worker from Chacha village under Jharigaon block to hospital.

The vehicle dashed against a culvert wall and ran over it, as a result of which the expectant mother, the ASHA worker and the driver of the ambulance were grievously injured.

The injured trio was admitted to the Umerkote Community Health Centre. The pregnant woman and the ASHA worker were later shifted to the district headquarters hospital as their condition deteriorated.
