Explosion in steel plant in Odisha: Two bodies retrieved from oil tanker

A day after oil tank explosion reported at Arya Iron & Steel Company Pvt Ltd (AISCO) in Keonjhar district, missing two workers of the company were found dead in the furnace oil tank here today.

The deceased were identified as Chakradhar Birua and Ishak Kangari. They were the residents of Barapada area. They were missing after the blast in which another two workers were seriously injured yesterday.

According to reports, the furnace oil tank exploded when a six-member team comprising of an engineer, a foreman, two welders and two helpers were engaged in the repair work of furnace oil tank of the company. While two workers identified as labourer Jagannath Deogam and foreman Ramakant Rout sustained serious injuries, another two workers Chakradhar and Ishak went missing in the incident.

The exact reason behind the explosion is yet to be ascertained.The probe has been launched by Factories & Boilers into the incident.
