Odisha Assembly Monsoon Session: House to run till 7 pm

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha today informed that duration of House’s business hour has been revised from five hours to six hours a day.

Following an all-party meeting ahead of  the Monsson Session, the Speaker today informed that House will run from 10 am to 1 pm in first phase while the second phase will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm. Earlier, the second phase used to be held till 6 pm.

The Speaker further said all members of the Legislative Assembly  have unanimously agreed for smooth running of the House during the upcoming Monsoon Session. The House will run in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, he added.

Meanwhile, BJP and Congress MLAs have demanded that journalists be allowed to enter the Assembly. They also demanded Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik remain physically present in the House during discussions.

The Monsoon Session will commence from on July 2 and continue till August 4. The full budget for the year 2022-23 will be presented on first day of the session.
