Odisha boy Sansit bags gold as topper in Kanpur IIT

Bhubaneswar: Meritorious boy Sansit Patnaik has brought laurel for Odisha by winning gold medal in his studies at Kanpur IIT.

Sansit, a student of mechanical engineering trade, is the first Odia who earned gold for securing the top position among students of all the departments of IIT in Kanpur, India’s premier institute.

Born to late Bishnupada Pattnaik and mother Sabitabala Pattnaik, the talented boy also tops in sports. After successfully completing class X from Saint Xavier’s School and Plus Two from Mother’s Public School with 94.4%, he had cleared the entrance examination for enrolment into IIT course.

During his B.Tech, he had made an artificial organ (hand), which can be functional by the direction of the victim. He had bagged Smruti award for his unique invention.

He was also an active participant in all the cultural programmes held at the institute.

Sansit, who is going to join ITC Limited, gave all the credit for his success to Sambad Editor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, mother, teachers and his classmates.

While advising the IIT aspirants, he said, “They can reach the top of with hard labour and study.
