Odisha Congress begins membership drive ahead of Panchayat Polls 2022

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Panchayat Polls 2022, Odisha Congress today launched membership drive to strengthen the party’s base at grassroots level. The drive will continue till March 30.

Activists and leaders from different places joined the party at a special function held at Congress Bhawan here today. One has to pay Rs 5 for the membership of five years, informed party Odisha In-charge A Chella Kumar.

Launching a scathing attack on the state Government, he said all developmental works, including establishment of ports and plants were developed during the tenure of Congress Government. On the other hand, the state has seen a huge spike in unemployment during the Naveen Government, he added.

Chella Kumar also targeted the Centre for its failure to provide two crore jobs as promised during elections and over price hike.

“The membership drive will be expedited at village level and the party will form Government in 2024 elections,” he affirmed.

Among others, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Niranjan Patnaik and Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim  were present at the event.
