Odisha Crime Branch to probe Aditya Dash’s death case

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay today directed the State Crime Branch to probe into the death of social worker and motivational speaker ‘Manab Premi’ Aditya Dash.

The case was being investigated by the Government Railway Police (GRP). As per the direction of the DGP, the Crime Branch will now take charge of the investigation.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)  had recently sought an Action Taken Report (ATR) from the Twin City Commissionerate Police over the death of Aditya within four weeks.

Aditya was found dead on the railway track near Lingaraj Temple Road station in the city on July 7. He had gotten married on June 9. He was running an old-age home at Sundarapara in the city and was involved in social service through an NGO namely ‘People For Seva’.

Post-mortem report had revealed that he died due to grievous injuries on his head. Aditya’s wife, family members and friends have already been questioned during the investigation by police.
