Odisha crosses 2 crore mark in COVID-19 vaccination

Bhubaneswar: Achieving yet another milestone, Odisha today crossed two crore mark in COVID-19 vaccination.

Health and Family Welfare Department informed, “Odisha has achieved a milestone in the vaccination drive with two crore doses administered successfully. We are grateful to entire Health team and to each and every people of the state for their proactive participation, making the drive successful.”

With this, 40 per cent of the total population in the state have taken the first vaccine dose, said official sources.

As per data available on CoWIN portal, the state  has cumulatively administered 2,00,21,814 vaccine doses so far. This means, the state administered over one crore vaccine shots in nearly two months as it had achieved the first one crore vaccination mark on June 21. On the day, the state Government had begun massive vaccination drive to achieve the target of 3 lakh inoculations per day.

Meanwhile, the vaccination coverage in the country crossed 56-crore mark on Tuesday.
