Odisha decides to stop issuing Covid guidelines

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to discontinue issuing orders and guidelines for implementation of Covid containment measures.

The Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC) office in an order stated today that under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Covid containment measures will not be issued.

But, whenever any surge in the number of Covid cases is observed, the Health and Family welfare Department may take prompt and proactive action as advised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time, the SRC order added.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed that States and UTs to consider appropriately discontinuing issue of orders and guidelines under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 for Covid containment measures.

As per the data provided by the Health and Family Welfare Department data, there are 345 active Covid cases in the State as of March 31, 2022.
