A group of students of a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar had come to Puri this morning. After their arrival, they had gone to the sea beach for a bath.

While they were bathing near the Swargadwara area, one of the friends, Abhigyan Alok, a third-year student and a native of Ranchi in Jharkhand was swept away by the strong current of the sea.

At this, his friend, Abhishek Kumar, a native of Bokaro in Jharkhand, tried to rescue him but got drowned in the process.
