Odisha Govt modifies COVID testing rule for air passengers

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has modified the COVID-19 testing rule for air passengers de-boarding at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here.

As per the revised guidelines, random RT-PCR testing will be undertaken for passengers, who are not in possession of COVID-19 test report conducted 72 hours prior to the boarding of flight, till further order.

Passengers found to be symptomatic during screening will be immediately isolated and be taken to medical facility managed of BMC.

Besides, authorities have been asked to ensure that social distancing is maintained during de-boarding of passengers. All other stipulations will continue to be in force until further order, said the order issued by the civic body.

The airport Director will facilitate the BMC in installing the testing facility and ensure strict adherence of all COVID guidelines.
