Bhubaneswar, Sept 12:

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered a probe by the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Central, into the police firing incident at Chandpur under Ranpur police station in Nayagarh district in which a young student, Pradip Behera, was killed and nearly 50 persons including 17 policemen were injured on Thursday.

The RDC would submit his report within a month.

In another move, the state government shifted Nayagarh SP Niti Sekhar to the State Police headquarters and appointed Manoranjan Mohanty in his place.
