Odisha govt relaxes lockdown restrictions on shops

Bhubaneswar:  After the Centre allowed reopening of shops in both urban and rural areas, Odisha Government effected few modification in its previous order on functioning of shops and other business establishments during the lockdown.

As per the revised order,  standalone and neighboring shops and shops in residential complexes within the limit of municipal corporations and municipalities and registered under the Orissa Shops and Commercial Establishments Act-1956 will remain open in Odisha during the lockdown.

However,  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked municipal commissioners and district collectors to notify details specifying the types and timing of the shops to remain open and the districts.

The shops will remain open with 50 per cent  staff strength with mandatory use of face masks. Besides, the staff will have to strictly follow the  social distancing norm.

However,  the MHA has clarified that parlours and salons, restaurants and  liquor shops will continue to remain under the lockdown.
