Odisha Guv, CM pay last respects to Odia soldiers martyred in Ladakh clash

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid last respects to the mortal remains of two Odia soldiers martyred in the Ladakh clash today evening.

After the mortal remains of Chandrakant Pradhan and Nanduram Soren arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar from New Delhi in a special flight, the Odisha Governor and Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the two brave soldiers.

Politicians cutting across party lines including BJP MP from Bhubaneswar Aparajita Sarangi and BJD MP from Kandhamal Achyuta Samanta also paid their last respects to the two martyrs.

Sources said the bodies of the two soldiers will be taken to their respective villages today. Last rites of the two martyrs will be performed with full state honour after people pay last respects to them, the sources added.

Worth mentioning, Chandrakant Pradhan of Biarpanga village under Raikia block of Kandhamal district and Nanduram Soren of Badachampauda village of Mayurbhanj district were among the 20 Indian soldiers who were martyred during a violent clash with Chinese troops in Galwan valley in the intervening nights of June 15 and 16.
