Odisha: Head-on collision between motorcycle and truck takes 2 lives in Balasore

Soro: Two youths were killed in a road mishap that took place in the wee hours of today as a motorcycle on which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a truck at Talanagar on NH-16 under Soro police limits in Balasore.

One of the deceased youths was identified as a local resident, who belonged to Manitri village in the district. However, the identity of the second victim has not been ascertained yet.

According to a senior official of Soro police station, the two met with an accident when they were on their way back home from Bhadrak at around 2.30 am. The duo died on the spot following the collision. The truck has run over the other motorcyclist, as a result of which it has become difficult to identify him. Drivers of some other vehicles passing through the route informed police, the senior cop added.

Soro police reached the spot after getting information and seized the bodies. Police have sent the bodies to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and initiated a probe.

The family of the identified youth was informed by police about the mishap in the morning.
